One of the best articles describing the sorry state of affairs in the Uk.
The problem here is that drs being ambitious are often their worst enemies and stand divided.
Which is when a group of unemployed lawyers under the guise of the “GMC” are able to generate work for themselves and keep themselves employed and earning big bucks.

I think Dr B should be investigated and Stockport needs to think again about working with Mastercall – this is atrocious behaviour and a waste of NHS resources too. I stand with Dr Arora!

I have chaired a program for quite a while now. What I generally see is that when something like this happens is that there is a back story. Could be that the GMC is awful. Could be that Arora is a good doctor but a constant PITA? Also, she mentions “taking” one. Did she just go ahead and take a computer w/o authorization? Anyway, I have to buy my own laptop.

Great article but sadly yet again Indians have given Indians a bad name (Wonder if Bon Jovi ever thought of that). Just when we try hard to stay clear of any trouble and from any sort of nonsense.. up comes along some drop out from Darvins theory to throw it all away.. Why Oh whY ??.. bad enough Indians like many others in the 3rd world, who do not have UK or US crednetials, have to struggle hard to get licensed and recognised in the Uk and US systems. And then this !!!. How on earth will anyone trust us lot. And then crying white supremacy and nepotism etc etc is useless. We shot ourselves in the foot. What was the bloody point of IELTS & PLAB. Oh and so much for ‘ I’ve cleared my FRCS , MRCS , USMLE.. and many other alphabetical combinations… ‘.. but you can’t understand ‘may or may not’. And besides all this ‘Who on earth asks Medical Staffing for a laptop??!!..’ . The last I remembered its not like you’re getting a Dell Alienware.. You’d be lucky if the darn thing has 4GB RAM and Windows 8 !!!!.
Sad sad.. Ah here we go again. And with this.. all the dreams of another aspiring batch of Indian doctors is shot down.. God Bless America… er oops. Sorry.. Save the Queen..

It’s not first time and it’s not the last time that it has happened. I am sure this case must have taken at least 6 months for GMC to reach their conclusion, during which the doctor remained suspended with all the associated trauma affecting her well being as well as her trust in the society in which she lives in.
GMC is a thoroughly corrupt organisation, it’s unfit to practice.

Thank you for this article. I am not amazed this case has happened. I have recently come across a not very dissimilar case. It irates me that … like you point out .. there is no accountability for the GMC. Here is a body paid for by doctors .. repeatedly and successfully suing and penalising the hand that feeds them. How many such organisations exist and where??
With its many funds ( provided by us) the GMC can employ the best and most articulate lawyers.. generally QCs when the MPS or MDU which I believe are organisations there to make a profit.. will employ less robust lawyers to defend accused doctors. There isn’t much competition in the defence organisations out there and they do not report the number of doctors they defend successively. I suspect their employed lawyers who will get paid whether they win or lose a case .. have no reason to work hard or go the extra mile for their clients. Moreover lawyers (and I find this unbelievable!!) cannot tell you what you must or must not utter in court this is ridiculous to say the least.. why would I pay someone .. anyone anything at all if they are not able to coach me to successfully defend myself. It just does not make sense at all.
Doctors in front of the GMC, reported either by comical Managers like in the case above or irate patients are in fact considered Guilty unless proven otherwise and I suspect in majority of times… the verdict is Guilty. In the case above.. my lord.., I will make a plea to also suspend the MD so that instigators of “stupid” complaints will think twice before they report them.
