I’ve been dealing with constipation for the last two weeks or so but have been too embarrassed to find a gastrointestinal doctor and discuss my treatment. Now that I understand it’s a common issue, that should help me feel better about discussing treatment options with a professional!

Doc thought at the time it may be stomach lining erosion from too much acid. Nexium seemed to help, but I did not want to take that long term. Also stopping the consumption of soda pop and alcohol reduced my acid reflux greatly.

One year a probiotic cured the problem instantly, but later I still struggled from time to time with varying degrees of the condition. Using Prilosec OTC occasionally – again not a good long term treatment.

What has worked the best for me as a “cure” so to speak, is Bentonite Clay. I take a tablespoon with 8oz of water once per day between meals for 7 days. Makes my stomach and intestinal tract feel great and fully relaxed.

It has been the best treatment yet, and no co-pays or expensive treatments which all seem to be trail and error. The condition has never really returned to the level it first appeared.

“They need new solutions that understand the complexity of their situation, take the time to get to know them and develop and test personalized solutions to minimize the impact of their condition on their life. Many times the support people want and need does not seem available to them from today’s “sick care” approach to healthcare.”

This was my “new solution”.

Since finding this treatment I have had no serious reoccurrence.
