Didn’t he promise us lower costs?”

If he said “preserve choice” then it is. It’s preserving the choice we already had in the private market. Obama Care is access to the existing private market and it’s restrictive choices of networks, co-pays, and deductibles. It did give lower costs for those getting subsidies.

It’s a weak “solution” but how could he have done better and still get the co-operation of private insurance?

“we could have made it clear that combined corporate ownership across the spectrum of care would be severely limited”

Really, in a system where corporations fund campaigns and jobs for after office politicians and their relatives?

“This is a mistake for which we will all pay for a very long time.”

Yes “this is a mistake”, but “we” wanted the glorious benefits of a private enterprise system, and not the dreaded single-pay, which, if it restricted choice would have at least given us better prices.
