“If tokens are a ‘breakthrough in network design’ then these tokens have failed to create the networks necessary to sustain them.”

No shilling but look out for African health care related ICO’s and you will see success

To clarify … Curecoin was crowdfunded to be an independent blockchain (not an Ethereum based ICO). Alpha began in late 2013 with a subsequent public release in May 2014. They use a hybrid PoW/PoS SHA-256 blockchain model based off Peercoin with one notable exception … 80% of the token’s are automatically distributed via cryptobullionpools.com, to Protein Folding research contributors on Stanford University’s Folding@home network. In effect this ensures Curecoin uses 80% less energy to secure their network, and inoculates it against scaling issues of other similar cryptocurrencies which rely on “parent” blockchains for their security (ETH and XCP). Research covers cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinsons, and infectious disease through distributed computational biology & citizen science. ANYBODY with a PC or Mac can participate. Unlike traditional “mining”, the problems humanity faces from disease aren’t going away, so the incentive to “fold” instead of “mine” will always transcend (although not always scale) beyond pure financial motivations for a VERY long time. They are signaling changes to their blockchain which will make it more efficient in the near term, as well as hinting they will be the first blockchain to be double-secured using Veriblock’s PoP technology.
