My dad was in a clinic like that and I got chewed out for taking him to the ER and eventually removed him after the PCP kept trying to treat his heart failure and didn’t refer him to cardiology. He was in AFib and I didn’t find out until I contacted cardiology myself and they did an EKG and echocardiogram. He hadn’t had an EKG in over a year and echocardiogram in five years. The cardiologist changed his meds up completely and then referred him to an electrophysiologist and I learned he should have been on anticoagulation. And this is only the most extreme example of problems I had with this care model. I will never ever take him back to a clinic like ChenMed.
