As in, he spent a large part of his briefing in the White House press room talking about the fate of the health care reform bill. Here’s what he had to say about the summit with Republican and Democratic leaders, that’s still two weeks away:
Bipartisanship depends on a willingness among both Democrats and Republicans to put aside matters of party for the good of the country. I won’t hesitate to embrace a good idea from my friends in the minority party, but I also won’t hesitate to condemn what I consider to be obstinacy that’s rooted not in substantive disagreements but in political expedience.

I won’t hesitate to embrace a good idea from my friends in the minority party
when is this new policy effective? He has yet to embrace a single idea. Best one would be to scrap the current bill and start over.
To say bipartisanship in politics, is like being Asexual. As everyone knows; It is a impossibility in Humans. Their is enough blame among self serving Democrats and Republicans as well. Republicans have played the obstructionist Card ;in spite of their Voters.
The President is not in Damage control as some would suggest.Rather I think He lacks the Spine to stop the Child’s play and make the Bill Law!
The President is not interested in bipartisanship. He and Reid and Pelosi are in full damage control mode, trying to make the Repubs look bad, for the ’10 midterm elections. Period.
Perhaps it might be useful to identify the parts of the proposed bills which do not seem calculated to attract more votes to the Democratic Party. In other words, how many bones have been thrown, in the spirit of “bipartisanship,” to the opposition?
